Frequently Asked Questions
How does an online conference work?
Check out the ‘conference hall’ by clicking here…
In a traditional conference, the presenter stands in front of the people who are sitting and listening. In the online conference, the presenter will broadcast his presentation within a web page. To listen and participate you will only need to login to the website using the login information that will be sent to conference registrants a day or two before the conference begins.
Only the presenter will be communicating through audio and/or video. Conference participants only need a keyboard and a computer with sound- and of course an Internet connection.
Conference participants will be able to chat with each other (by text) and even the presenter during the presentation, in real time. Between sessions, you will be able to chat via text with other contest participants and the presenter, too, if his/her schedule allows.
Do I need to register for the sessions I want to attend?
There will be no need to register for the different sessions. Simply login in and logout as your own schedule permits.
What if I can’t make the whole event?
Sessions will be recorded and will be available for download after the conference to conference registrants.
Are discounts available?

I hear I can get free books?
That’s right. Those who register and actually attend will be able to receive a free copy- and that is free including shipping!*- of your choice of G. K. Chesterton’s Orthodoxy, Blaise Pascal’s Pensees, or others that might TBA. To receive your free book you have to attend at least one of the days of the conference and submit a form especially created for that day that includes your mailing address and your choice of book.
*free shipping within the lower 48 states of the U.S. Sorry, we must charge shipping for shipping internationally or to Hawaii or Alaska. It will be USPS priority for those receiving their complimentary books who live in these regions.
What do I get for submitting my short story in the writing contest?
The grand prize winner will receive $600 and the Runner Up will receive $400!** Conference attendees will be invited to vote on their favorite stories. The twelve stories that receive the highest votes will be distributed in a literary e-zine, one at a time for 12 months. This could be great exposure for authors. **We reserve the right to modify these amounts depending on participation.
Deadline for story entries: May 6th, 2010. If you plan on submitting a story, you’ll need to upload it by the deadline so that it can be ready for conference participants to read. An upload form for this purpose will be made available soon but you can already upload it when you register, if you like.
Contest winners will be determined by June 15th and announced no later than July 1st, 2010.
Do you need to upload your story? Scroll down to the bottom and use the form you see there.
I submitted a story at your Christian Writing Contest. Can I submit the same story here?
Yep. Note, however, that if you won a cash award for the writing contest and therefore received a complimentary registration to this conference, you will have to submit $10 for your story to be considered at the conference. If you do not submit a story, you do not need to pay this fee at all. Your story should be an illustration of ‘literary apologetics’ at some level and should be no more than 7,500 words. Hint: shorter than that is better.
Can I help promote this event?
